Memorial and Celebration of Life
I am asked to play the harp for memorials and celebration of life. Providing music at such important events is meaningful and I do my best to accommodate requests by families.
Please specify any religious affiliation to determine the type of music I should choose to play at the service. Type of music often played are classical music, hymns, and selected popular songs.
Music is provided during the viewing of the deceased. This can be anywhere between one-two hours.
I provide 15-minutes prior to the memorial service as guests enter, any music during the service, and postlude, lasting about an hour and half to two-hours. Music during the services are interludes, songs to dedicate to the deceased, background music for video presentation, and flower presentation.
I provide music during the burial of the coffin. Musical interlude is offered during guests' arrival, any silent moments, dove release, flower giving, and as guests leave the site. Most of burial sites have no shading. Please provide a tent or an umbrella for shading as the instrument is very sensitive to the direct sun.
I offer background music for a memorial reception. Generally families choose to have favorites songs of the deceased, and/or happy, uplifting songs to be performed.
The following is a sample of memorial song repertoire.
As the deer
Bridge over troubled water
Candle in the wind
Clair de Lune
Here I am Lord
How Great Thou Art
I am the bread of life
I will remember you
It is well with my soul
Lamb of God
Morning has broken
On Eagle's wings
One more day
Tears in heaven
Ten thousand reasons (Bless the Lord)
Wind beneath my wings
You are my hiding place
Plus other Chrisitian hymns
Please contact me regarding other specifics and details. I am happy to customize music for your event.
